Warehouses & Distribution

Every pallet position
earns its keep.

Pallet racking, mezzanines, lighting, networking, security, and information screens. Designed and installed for the warehouses and distribution centres that move the UK's stock, without pausing picking.

Why warehouses are different

Every square metre matters.
Every hour costs.

A warehouse fit-out isn't a refurb. It's a revenue engine. Bad layout choices cost picks per hour. Slow installs cost orders shipped. We design and build with both numbers in mind.

01

Storage density = revenue

More pallet positions per square metre means more stock through the door. We design layouts that maximise density without sacrificing pick speed: drive-in for bulk SKUs, narrow aisle for selectivity, mezzanines for floor footprint multipliers.

02

Speed of install matters

Every day a section is offline is orders that go out from someone else's warehouse. We phase installs aisle-by-aisle, work nights and weekends, and pre-fabricate where possible. Most racking expansions go in faster than the building regs sign-off.

03

24/7 operations

The warehouse doesn't sleep. Our crews work around your shift patterns: night installs while day pickers are off, weekend mezzanine builds, rolling work zones that move with your operations team. Picking keeps picking.

04

Tech integration

Pick-to-light, WMS scanners, RF networking, EV-charger fleet infrastructure, aisle-end information screens. Modern warehouses are wired before they're racked. We install the structure with the cabling, power, and data already designed into it.

Everything we deliver for warehouses

Four trades, one contract,
one project manager.

Most warehouse operators run a racking supplier, an electrical contractor, a networking installer, and a security company. We replace all four with one in-house team running on the same install timeline, and we don't stop you trading to do it.

Pallet racking with numbered positions
01 / WAREHOUSE INFRASTRUCTURE

The backbone: racking, mezzanines, partitioning.

The primary trade for warehouse fit-outs. We design and install every common racking system, build single- and multi-tier mezzanines, and partition off bonded, secure, or temperature-controlled zones. All SEMA-compliant, with first SARI inspection booked at handover.

  • Conventional, drive-in, push-back, narrow-aisle racking
  • Mezzanine floors: single, double, triple tier
  • Partitioning for bonded / temperature / secure zones
  • Industrial shelving for pick faces and parts storage

Networked LED information displays in warehouse
03 / LED DISPLAY

Wayfinding, info screens, dock signals.

Networked LED information displays at aisle ends showing live stock data and pick instructions. Dock door signage for goods-in/out, safety briefing screens at entrances, and large-format walls for warehouse safety messaging. Integrated with your existing WMS where possible.

  • Aisle-end information screens (live stock data)
  • Dock door signals and goods-in displays
  • Safety briefing displays for inductions
  • Content management with WMS integration

How a re-rack & refit
actually runs.

Most warehouse projects aren't new builds. They're expansions, re-racks, and capability upgrades in operational sites. Here's the rhythm.

1

Weeks 0 to 1

Survey & design

Floor survey, slab strength check, traffic flow analysis, and CAD layouts. Sign-off on layout, density, forklift compatibility, and trading constraints.

2

Weeks 2 to 3

Pre-build & delivery

Steel arrives, pre-staged for phased install. Networking and electrical first-fix in target zones. Mezzanine kit arrives partially built where possible.

3

Weeks 3 to 6

Phased install

Aisle-by-aisle or zone-by-zone install around your operations. Out-of-hours or night shifts for high-traffic zones. Stock relocated as each section completes.

4

Week 7

Commission & sign-off

SEMA-compliant load notices fitted. SARI inspection booked. NICEIC certificates issued. Aisle-end screens commissioned. Training on smart-lighting controls and CCTV. First annual maintenance booked.

"We expanded from 5,000 to 8,000 pallet positions without losing a single day of picking. That paid for the whole project before it was finished."

FAQ

Questions warehouse operators
ask before quoting.

Can you install while we're operational?
Almost always, yes. We phase installations aisle-by-aisle or zone-by-zone, working nights and weekends where required. Method statements are written around your shift patterns. If you run 24/7 we work in the quietest windows. The aim is zero impact on picks per hour.
Do you handle SEMA-compliant designs?
Yes. Every install is SEMA-code compliant with a signed-off load notice fitted to every run. We include a SARI (Storage and Rack Inspection) compliance check at handover, and book the first annual inspection before warranty starts. SEMA certification is non-negotiable on our installs.
What WMS or scanner integrations do you support?
We're hardware- and software-agnostic on the networking side. Cat6 / Cat6a / fibre infrastructure that supports any major WMS, hand-scanner system, or voice-pick platform. Our team can work alongside your WMS supplier during commissioning to ensure aisle-end screens, RF coverage, and live data feeds all align.
Can you handle multi-site rollouts?
Yes. For 3PLs, distribution networks, and chain operators we deploy dedicated mobile crews that move between sites on a planned schedule. Same project manager, same install method, same standards applied at every site. Particularly useful for re-rack rollouts or LED information-display deployments across an estate.
How do you minimise picking downtime?
By phasing aggressively. We rarely take more than one aisle out of operation at a time. Stock is relocated to neighbouring zones, racking installed overnight, and the aisle handed back to pickers in the morning. For large-scale re-racks we plan the sequence with your operations team weeks in advance.
Do you supply EV charger infrastructure?
Yes. We design and install commercial EV chargers (7kW to 22kW for staff parking, DC rapid units for fleet) and the supporting electrical infrastructure. Often specified at the same time as a power upgrade for new racking or LED installs. Cheaper than doing it as a separate later project.
Can you upgrade or relocate existing racking?
Yes. We routinely strip, inspect, and re-install pre-owned racking, often as part of a hybrid layout combining new and existing stock. Every relocated component is inspected against SEMA codes. If any frame or beam doesn't pass, we replace it. Useful for moving stock from one site to another, or expanding within the same building.
Do you handle building regs for mezzanines?
Yes. Mezzanines over a certain area need building regs sign-off. Mezzanines used as offices, retail, or trade-counter space typically need planning permission. We handle the application paperwork, fire strategy, and structural calculations in-house. Allow 6 to 8 weeks lead time for the permission process if it's needed.
