Why retail is different

What customers see matters.
What they don't see matters more.

A retail fit-out is half theatre, half operations. Get the visual right and footfall converts. Get the back-of-house right and the store actually runs. Most contractors do one or the other. We do both.

01

Trading hours are sacred

Stores can't shut for weeks. Most retail installs happen overnight, in tight 6 to 8 hour windows, with the store back to trading-ready by opening. Our crews work the hours your customers don't see.

02

Visual standards rule

Retail brands have visual merchandising standards, fixture specifications, and lighting tables that don't bend. We install to the brand book: colour-matched fixtures, calibrated LED brightness, signs positioned within millimetres.

03

Multi-store rollouts

Retail clients rarely have one store. We deploy mobile crews for chain rollouts: same standards at every site, same project manager, same documentation. Fifty stores in a quarter is a normal scale for us.

04

Loss prevention focus

Retail stock walks. CCTV with AI behavioural analytics, alarmed display cases, fob and card access on stock rooms, and bonded zones for high-value lines. Designed to GDPR standards for customer and staff footage.

Everything we deliver for retail

Four trades, one rollout,
one consistent finish.

The retail fit-out market is fragmented: separate VM companies, lighting designers, electrical contractors, LED installers, and security firms. We replace all of them with one in-house team that delivers a consistent finish across every store.

A typical retail fit-out

How a multi-store rollout
actually runs.

Most retail projects aren't single stores. They're brand-led rollouts across an estate. Here's how we run them so every store looks the same and opens on time.

1

Weeks 0 to 2

Brand & pilot

Brand-book review, site surveys at three stores, pilot install at one to refine specifications. Visual merchandising sign-off, lighting tables agreed, fixture finishes confirmed.

2

Weeks 3 to 4

Pre-fab & logistics

Bespoke fixtures and joinery pre-built off-site in our workshop. LED screens calibrated to brand colours. Rollout schedule confirmed store-by-store with each store manager.

3

Weeks 5+

Rollout installs

Mobile crews move between stores on a planned schedule. Each store installed overnight, typically 6 to 10pm to 6am, to brand spec. Store re-opens at trading hours the same morning.

4

Each store

Open at 9am

VM team walks each store at 6am for sign-off. Tills tested, screens commissioned, CCTV enrolled, stock back on shelves. Customer-ready before the doors open.

"We rolled out a new LED display package across 24 stores over four weeks. Every store opened on time. Every one looked identical."

FAQ

Questions retail operations
teams ask before quoting.

Can you install overnight?
Yes. Most of our retail installs happen overnight. Stores close at 6 or 7pm, our crew is on site by 6.30pm, install completes by 5 to 6am, VM team walks at 6am for sign-off, store opens at 9am. We design the install package for that window from the start.
Do you do multi-store rollouts at consistent quality?
Yes. This is one of our strongest capabilities. We deploy dedicated mobile crews that move between stores on a planned schedule, using identical materials, fixings, and method statements. Quality is checked at handover by the same project manager visiting every site, so store 50 looks like store 1.
Can you match our retail brand colours and standards?
Yes. Every install is sample-confirmed against your brand book before manufacture. Pantone-matched paint, calibrated LED colour tables, fixture finishes signed off in advance. We work routinely with brand and VM teams to make sure every element lands inside the brand standard.
How do you handle CCTV for loss prevention?
IP cameras with AI behavioural analytics: automated detection of common loss scenarios (lingering at high-value displays, unusual movement near fitting rooms, after-hours motion). Linked to alarm response where required. All GDPR-compliant for customer and staff footage.
Can you work with our existing visual merchandising team?
Yes, and we prefer to. Your VM team owns the visual standard. We own the installation. We brief from your specifications, install to your tolerances, and hand each store back to your VM lead for final sign-off at the morning walk-through.
What's the typical install window per store?
Most overnight installs run 6.30pm to 6am. That's the realistic window for a typical refresh including LED, fixtures, CCTV refresh, and minor electrical. Larger refits (full store rebuild, full re-rack) typically need a 3 to 5 day closure or are phased zone-by-zone over a longer period.
Do you understand high-end retail standards?
Yes. We've delivered installs for boutique and premium-brand clients where finish tolerances are millimetric, LED colour is calibrated to brand Pantones, and every fixing is hidden. Our joinery workshop is set up for this level of detail.
Can you maintain systems across all stores?
Yes. Multi-site maintenance contracts are a core part of what we do. Annual EICRs, CCTV health checks, LED content updates, alarm servicing. All coordinated centrally with a single point of contact. Reactive call-outs covered within agreed SLAs.
